The Sky is Pink (1st Slice)

Hey All! How you doin' lately? I recently watched a Bollywood film named- The Sky is Pink. It was released in 2019 but I got the hype to watch it now. Maybe you've already watched it or you're going to. Seriously, this film was an emotional roller coaster for me. This film influenced my thoughts about life and I just wanna share all those with you via this post. I'm not only gonna say about my thoughts but I'm also gonna share the raw plot of this film. Before starting, I wanna give you a huge *Spoiler Alert*. If you want zero spoilers, you may watch the film first and then come back. Also, visit my profile in this blog and you'll notice two questions asked there. If you wish to answer 'em, answer it in the comment section below for a shout-out ;) So, let's get into the actual content!

This film is actually based on the true story of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary who passed away in 2015 when she's 18. Now coming to the film. Aisha narrates the story of her parents Moose (Aditi Chaudhary- her mom) and Panda (Niren Chaudhary- her dad) from the afterlife. Aditi and Niren are a young couple who get married, coming from different backgrounds. Aditi gets pregnant and gives birth to Tanya Chaudhary who unexpectedly dies within months of her birth due to severe combined immunodeficiency condition. The reason for this is that, the couple together form a rare gene which is also a faulty gene. There's a 25% chance that their children will inherit this gene. This faulty gene is the reason for Tanya's health complications. When Aditi's condition was so miserable due to such a loss, she is being consoled by a Catholic nun which makes her convert to Christianity. Here, we can know how tolerant and broad-minded Panda was. He could have opposed her in doing so, but he didn't want to. Not to be controversial, but still we all know that these converting to a different religion and stuff is not accepted by a lot of people. But Panda was an exception here.

Now, coming back to the story. After Tanya, Aditi gives birth to Ishaan Chaudhary who is luckily healthy. After years, Aditi is pregnant for the third time which is unexpected by the couple. Niren doesn't want another baby like Tanya which makes him want Aditi to abort the baby. But according to Christianity, abortion is a sin and guess what, Aditi has no motive/idea in doing that. She convinced Niren that this baby doesn't have to be Tanya.

And here we go! Aditi gives birth to Aisha on 27 March 1996. Along with the happy news comes the wistful one as well. The couple come to know that Aisha has the same complications as Tanya which leaves them heartbroken. As the doctors of Delhi give up on Aisha's treatment, the couple along with Ishaan, move to London where another twist was waiting. The doctors there suggest a bone-marrow transplant which is very expensive. It costs around 120,000 pounds which is like 1,25,31,780 INR (yeah I used google conversion 😁). Still, the couple is not ready to give up on Aisha and Niren starts working hard to earn the money and also asks for crowdfunding via a radio station. After weeks, a really happy news was waiting. The people of London have donated around 250,000 pounds for Aisha's treatment which is like double the actual amount needed. This leaves them so delighted. And now, even I wanna thank all those great souls. They've given 18 beautiful years to Aisha. Thank You so much for such an extraordinary help! (to be continued...)

And yeah, that's it for this post. Of course, the film's story will be continued in the next post which is basically the 2nd slice. Now, this would be a chance for you to go watch the film and then come back when the 2nd slice is posted 'cause maybe you'd have got the hype to watch it now. Or you can even wait until the next post, have a look into that and then decide if you want to watch it. I guess this post was way better than the previous, boring one. But still, make sure share your views with me in the comment section below. Anyways, I'll meet y'all on a new day with a new post. Until then, all you've to do is stay tuned ;)

Keep Spreading Positivity 😇
