The last post was concluded like this: They've given 18 beautiful years to Aisha. Thank You so much for such an extraordinary help! (to be continued...)
After receiving the needed amount, the couple make arrangements for the surgery. The bone marrow and stem cell transplant are successful but the doctors insist that Aisha has to be under their supervision. So, Moose stays in London while Panda returns to India along with Ishaan. Now, you're gonna get to know how the film was named "The Sky is Pink". As Moose misses Giraffe (Ishaan) so much, she makes a call to India. Ishaan says Aditi with a crying tone that Miss Dipti (Ishaan's Art Teacher) scolded him badly. When asked why, "Because I colored the sky pink in art class" he said. Also, he asks his mum whether the color of the sky is pink. "Miss Dipti is absolutely wrong. You can paint the sky any color you want. Always follow your dreams. There's no need to change the color of your sky for anyone. Ever. Everyone has their own sky. I painted my sky the color I wanted. If you believe your sky is pink, then it's pink" she said. This is just a small explanation but seriously it has a lot of meaning than it actually holds. Apart from the meaning, let us just appreciate how supportive Moose was. She wants her son to be unique. Moose is such a great mom!
Now, coming back to the plot. Aisha needs full-time care. And Aditi is doing that perfectly as no one ever could. She often sends video clips of Aisha to India to show how they live and how Aisha grows. In fact, these videos are refraining Aditi from falling into depression. On the other side, long distance relationship seemed too hard for the couple. After eight years of marriage, this was their first time apart. No doubt, they even get into arguments due to misunderstandings. Panda couldn't bare long distance relationship and he comes to London along with Giraffe. Now, he comes to know that Aisha has to stay in London for at least 10 years. It'll take time for T cells to grown in her body. And until they do, her body is highly prone to complications. Shifting to a new place before this, would be life-threatening for her. Even now, Niren is ready to do anything for his family. So the whole family (Moose, Niren, Giraffe, Aisha) stay in London permanently until Aisha is cured. They move to a London suburb as the doctors tell 'em to keep Aisha away from crowds.
In a span of 13 years, Panda's career grows in London and the family becomes affluent. Aditi grows overprotective of Aisha like sanitizing the house often, not letting her near animals/other people and not letting her to any place other than the hospital and their home. Once, Aisha is taken to the hospital for a check up and guess what. Aisha is absolutely fine and her test results are so good. Now she's going to have a normal life like the others!! Yayy 😄!!! Moose, Panda and Giraffe are extremely happy about this and Panda says Aditi that he's got promoted to India and they'll have to shift there. Aditi is doubtful whether it's safe to shift immediately but Panda convinces her that it is a huge offer and if in case of any emergency, Aisha can be treated by the doctors in India.
Soon the family move to a farmhouse in Delhi. The highlight for Aisha is that she's not gonna be home-schooled anymore and she starts going to school like the other kids. Here comes the love story of Aisha 😉. She meets Karan (aka Giraffe's classmate) and starts crushing on him. On the other side, Aditi is still being protective about Aisha as she's fragile. One night, a party is being thrown up at their farmhouse and the friends, relatives are being invited. In the mid of the party, Aisha's being noticed lying on the floor in an unconscious state. Immediately she is taken to the hospital. The doctor puts everyone in extreme shock and distress (not just the family but the audience as well). Aisha is being taken back home and the couple reveal Aisha and Giraffe about Aisha's current condition. Aisha has something called Busulfan Lung Damage and it has led to a condition called Pulmonary Fibrosis. This is actually the side effect of chemo therapy which Aisha underwent during the transplant. Busulfan lung damage is a delayed toxicity occurring years after discontinuation of the treatment. The most sad part is that it is a serious condition and it has no cure yet. This leaves everyone broken. (to be continued...)
And yeah, that's it for this post. It will be continued in the next post which would be the 3rd slice. If you haven't watched the film yet, hurry up now. Guess my effort was good.
